Victoria

In Canada we also visited with my aunt Ingrid and her husband Michael in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Victoria is situated about as far South as you can get in British Columbia, it's easy to see the Washington mountains from there (weather permitting, of course).

After checking into our hotel, we first decided to have lunch at the Dutch Bakery. Of course I had to start talking Dutch right away, only to learn that the few people that actually spoke Dutch weren't present at that time. Never mind, lunch was great anyway!

My aunt Ingrid is a great tour guide and she showed us all around the nice parts of Victoria - and there are a lot of those! Among others we strolled along several stretches of coast line, went up to Mount Douglas lookout point, visited Beacon Hill park and went to Fisherman's Wharf (okay, I admit we had a huge ice cream cone there as well). The second evening we ended with a lovely meal at Spinnakers.

A lovely city indeed!

The last two photos were taken on the ferry from Swartz Bay (you can see it in the background) to Tsawwassen. The last photo is very minimalistic in terms of colour and scenery, but I really like the tranquility and peacefulness of it.
